Ray

Design that carries the message, not just the brand.

Ray takes over the moment the brief is structured. Where Sys defines the architecture, Ray defines the aesthetic — the visual language that will carry your message from brief to audience. This is more than choosing colours; it's the systematic application of your brand across layout, typography, hierarchy, and interaction.

For digital deliverables, Ray works directly in HTML and CSS, generating compliant layout code that Pixel then refines and tests. Ray's output is never a mood board — it's a working visual specification. Brand tokens are applied programmatically. Contrast ratios are checked against WCAG AA. Email-client-safe dimensions are enforced at the composition stage, not the testing stage.

Ray owns the design system consistency across a project. If you order three deliverables simultaneously — an email, a landing page, and a detail aid — Ray ensures they're coherent. Same visual hierarchy. Same typographic rhythm. Same use of colour. Consistency isn't aspirational; it's built into the output spec.

When working on print deliverables, Ray coordinates with Viz on the page-level visual direction, setting the design language that Viz will execute at A4 scale. The two agents share a style specification document, ensuring that layout decisions made at the concept level are faithfully rendered in the final printed asset.

What Ray brings to a brief.

Layout Composition

Designs page and screen layouts that guide the eye, establish hierarchy, and work across formats — from A4 to 320px mobile.

Visual Hierarchy

Ensures the most important information is always the most prominent. Typography, weight, and spacing are used with intent.

Brand Application

Applies brand tokens — colours, typefaces, logo usage — systematically and precisely. No off-brand decisions.

HTML/CSS

Generates production-ready HTML layouts with inline CSS. WCAG AA contrast. Email-client and print-safe dimensions.

Responsive Design

All digital layouts scale correctly from desktop to mobile. No breakpoint is an afterthought.

Design Systems

Maintains a shared style specification across all deliverables in a project. Visual consistency is structural, not coincidental.

Enforces WCAG AA contrast minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text). Ensures email layouts are compatible with Outlook 2016–2021, Gmail, and Apple Mail rendering engines.
HTML layout file with inline CSS, design tokens JSON, visual style specification document (shared with Viz), responsive breakpoint specification.
